Deffo look like sloes but very early for them to be ripe now.

Wild blueberries / bilberries / whortleberries / whinberries I think possibly, but not sure. Would like to see a bit more of the plant.
They grow on moorland in Wales (and elsewhere, of course!)

Weird, as they look like sloe fruit but the leaves dont look right.
Rather early to be ripe, and only have young leaves.

Looks like Mahonia. Did it have spiky holly like leaves? If so, the berries are great for making wine.

Ok. Not what I thought.
Looks like oregon grape (mahonia) as others have said. Quite a popular cultivated plant in public flower borders etc, due to prickly leaves (ie, less likely to get vandalised).
