I have never done a write up (most cwd stalks are relatively uninteresting) but have shot over 400 deer in my time, which is chicken feed for some in here but not too shabby for a recreational stalker.

If I shot more interesting deer then maybe I would write on, but for now I will enjoy reading others’ exploits, hoping that they get inspired to do more or to inspire others to get stuck in.
There are many who don't shoot CWD I have shot 3 and that is enough for me, I knock over my share of muntjac and post the more interesting shots or body conditions missing legs, very pregnant and you should learn something each time you go out. The muntjac I shot the other evening I walked right at it from down a slop, it had a healed leg so was a lot slower (which I had seen them like it before) I took a chance and went for it and it paid off,
try that with a fully alert buck and it most lightly would leg it lol

I agree. Every day out stalking should be a school day, even if you have done it for a long time.

Learn something new or refresh yourself of something you haven’t done for a while.

I don’t often use a call, but on occasion I will take it just to see if my technique has got any better! Usually I end up calling in deer I can’t shoot!
