If we are overrun with Deer how come.......

They have a lot come in from Eire/Ni who definitely have too many.

Some of mine that go in are, some not. :tiphat:
Yes reading up on deer in Eire l see they are culling 350k per year, but would like that increased to 750k just to stabilise the situation....😳
Didn't realise they were that prolific.....🤔

It would be much easier if there was a unit like that nearby where I could drop off deer.

Could shoot more deer but no market for it.
same boat as you bud - can't shift the fallow on to the dealer as will only come and collect for 6 + carcasses. We tend to get a steady trickle through, majority MJ which the dealer wont touch. If there was somewhere that would take all carcasses then wouldn't have to evaluate if I can shift it before I pull the trigger....

He’s looking for a chill in the borders

A lot of deer in kintyre too but no way to get rid of them unless it’s via HG daylight robbery

I just checked the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS), to see their statistics for recent years. 2020: > 44,000, 2022: 55,008, 2023: 78,175 culled. Everyone issued either a S29 or S42 permit to take deer in RoI are required to make a return on the numbers of animals taken and various other categories to the NPWS. Most stalkers I know in the RoI keep a record to assist the return. 350k per annum seems unlikely.
