I'm off the Bino Harness. What's the best waist bag going?

As titled, I'm fed up with the Bino Harness. My Habrok are up to my eyes most of the time so I've ditched the harness and just wear them around my neck.

I've been using a Snugpak Response and am now sold on the idea of it being a waist pack... Just not this one.

I've been looking at a few options and I'm after opinions from anyone that may have used them.

I'm thinking shoulder straps might be a good idea as the thing I hate about the response pack is that it constantly slips down, mostly because the waist strap is constantly undoing itself.

I'm currently looking at...

KUIU Scout 1000
Helikon Foxtrot MK2

Any other recommendations?

Have a look at Military1st website - lots of waist packs on there and swift delivery.

I use the Heikon as a small day pack for time on the hill. Good compromise in terms of storage and space but I do find the shoulder weight taxing after a long day. I really rate the AGC packs and all of my essential stalking gear fits on that and my pockets for the vast majority of my stalking. The Heikon takes food, additional clothing, waterproofs and drinks needed for a substantial outing.

I've been wondering this too, awkward crawling with the binoculars on the chest. Keep wondering about this but not sure if thertex will fit in the side pocket

I’m interested in a monster fanny. Just wondering what they are like when they get wet.
Needs to be robust and easy to clean. Don’t do bad odours 😉
You don't need a monster one otherwise it doesn't matter how big or girthy your moderator is, It would just get lost in there.

Anyway, I've grabbed a cheap solognac one for tomorrows stalk. It's a temporary measure because I'm that annoyed with the Snugpak.

I'm definitely after one with shoulder straps though

I can honestly say my smallish Maxpedition Proteus Versipack (in green) has never slipped down if I get the adjustment right from the get-go:

None of them. They all end up hanging about yer arse. So then you think braces. Then you look like Corporal Jones…

Indeed. Tried most of them - they all slip without braces, so might as well go for a small rucksack.

Best one I’ve found - a very very useful and thought out design.

this is not a problem I've ever had with a few different waist belts - never seem to fall down but I know lots of people do say that
could you not just get a military surplus webbing platform belt with harness yoke and then add on exactly what bits you want?

(to be clear I'd never pay that much for a starter belt kit it's just the first one i found online)

Get a molle shooters belt and kit it out to your needs, they can come with a velcro inner belt which stops slipping/rotating.

Just buy whatever pouch sizes are needed to hold the kit you take out.

The NZ company Twin Needle makes good quality gear and have hunting belt/pouch systems.
