I coughed up a lot of hard earned cash for a second hand Z8i on this site, to my horror (and apparently unbeknownst to the seller) there was a problem with the focus/parallax and either the reticule was clear or the image, but never both regardless of any adjustments made.
Shipped off to Swarovski customer service in mid-May, they were happy to conduct repairs free of charge based on the serial number despite the fact I wasn't the original buyer. They wouldn't/couldn't tell me what had gone wrong, but they have just returned it in perfect working condition, clean, vacuum packed by UPS. Yes, longer than I would have liked, but just happy to have it working properly.
I know the warranty period changed, but it is a huge comfort to me when spending the amount of money it takes to buy Swaro that there is a solid customer service proposition behind it.
