Hello all
First off for some reason I can't post pictures on SD of the new lens covers I've discovered.
Having broken many Butler Creek flip up scope covers over the yrs especially the front lens cover , each time I get replacement ones I resent every penny spent as I know they won't last long .
Anyway last month I ordered some rubber feet covers /end caps to put under the chair feet to protect the wooden floors in the house .
This was my eureka moment as I realised these could also be used as the front indestructible eye piece covers .
I measured on my S&B 8x56 the front eye peice OD and got 50mm rubber end caps / feet covers , this size is a perfect fit for the front eye piece of my scope .
These caps are of a flexible rubber and create a good seal protecting the eye piece . They aren't as easy as the flip up covers as you have to physically slip this off which i can assure you isn't hard to do , but I'd go as far as saying they are indestructible and won't break .
I've trialed this over the last month or so and they work really well.
At £3.95 Inc postage for x 10 of them ( Ebay) if you loose one it won't break the bank .
All I have to get now is rubber end caps for the front of the scope and I will be set for ever .
