Interesting open letter concerning the lead shot/ammunition ban

You would like to think the org would help produce a template of facts we could use to write such a letter,
like why they think 243 should be excluded, why rifle ammunition for target shooting can be labeled not for live quarry, but clay cartridges cannot. Then why the transition for shot needs to be five years not the proposed three.

My MP is a member of the SNP. I will be suggesting that they should include 22 CF as well, and to make it illegal to leave carcasses of vermin shot with any lead ammo - 22 rimfire or air rifles where they can be consumed by other wildlife.Tell him yourself, he's not my MP.

and i shall write to mine suggesting a ban on game. shooting where more than a couple of thousand birds are put down.
I’m asking for a study that shows conclusively eating lead shot game has caused illness in humans which nobody seems to be able to provide
just for the record I thought you opposed lead shot restrictions ?

I will be using the 40gn vmax bullets on the range into a sand trap that catches the lead. I have no intention of shooting live quarry with those bullets. That’s why I have asked them to order 40 gn non toxic Fox bullets.
How you getting on with putting together all the evidence that lead causes no harm, and refutes all the opinion paper by the HSE?

Did you ware protection when loading and handling them? Was the range at home or an approved official site that has a lead clean up procedure?

I actually wonder if he is an embarrassment to BASC. If you look at C'OG's and other's stout defence of him I suspect we have missed the point. He is strongly supported by BASC. So the stitch up probably runs even deeper. Maybe Swift decided to step over to LAG with BASC Council's blessing. A mole as it were.

We constantly bring BASC into the discussion because as formerly sub paying members, we expected a defence. What we got was a hospital pass followed by a sell out. What you need to do now (once you have finished patting Mr Swift on the back and polishing his gong for him) is mount a challenge. Fat chance. Like I said above, if you people could just join LACS and PETA and do for them what you achieved for us, we would probably be better off by a margin.

Regarding wildfowl I much prefer to enjoy their presence rather than eat them so your question is best directed towards those who shoot them.
Can I ask HeymSR20 what qualifications and first hand experience you have regarding the medical research quoted above by Conor regarding “reducing lead levels in our systems (from all sources including lead shot game ) to treat various cancers” and could you provide a link to the research work which I assume you are a named contributor to that would expand on the link between the consumption of lead shot game and the various cancers mentioned in the first quote above.
I note in the second quote your intention to lobby for the inclusion of .22 centrefire in any future legislation and to make illegal the leaving of carcasses shot with .22 rimfire or air rifle. Your concern for the welfare of animals regarding lead ammunition ingestion and the yet unquantified impact of such while it perhaps may give you some comfort I’m sure will be of lesser concern to the anti fieldsports lobby you are supporting who will gladly see your sport legislated out of existence.
Lastly with the intention of establishing credibility do you still maintain that nicotine is a protein as stated in one of your earlier posts or have you had the time to Google that misinformation and accepted that it is in fact an alkaloid ?
How are you getting on with finding me that study ?
