Is anyone using the fox lead free? Parricularly In 6.5x55. Tempted to try some but worried about expansion on roe and smaller fallow

I’ve been using 35 grn NTX through ( factory load ) my 222 for sometime it loves em, accurate and does the job perfectly on Foxes, Canada goose culls and Rabbits

I also use them in 308 never had a problem to date on deer or foxes

Funnily enough I’ve never been able to find a NTX in 6.5 x 55 for handloading ( it’s the only one I handload for) that was the original plan for me to have a all round fox and deer NT dedicated rifle

overall haven’t had any problem with accuracy or carcase performance with 2 calibres

drop me a line if I can help

I do have an interest but its for good reason
I wanted to find a non lead bullet that expanded reliably at all ranges on all UK targets

Fox Classic Hunter does this, mainly due to a larger than average hollow point and the design which is purely for game use
It makes no aspirations of being a high BC target bullet design, the features of which have almost no benefit to the hunter shooting inside 300m

The 6.5 bullets come in 100, 123 and 139gr
Accuracy has been extremely good in a wide range of factory rifles
The factory loads are very effective on roe and we have numerous volume users with hundreds of data points for terminal effect and "knock down"

I have personally been using them in .270 and .308 on targets from foxes to red stags
in a Tikka T3 the factory 150gr ammo shoots 0.2-0.3 MOA out to 300m (I have not tested it past that range)

I have been loading these for a while now using 150gr in a .308 shooting foxes through to red stags I've never had a problem with roe, good blood trail and as long as the bullet is in the right place minimal meat damage. No problems with accuracy, I shoot out to 250yards.

Hi Ed, do the 139 gr stabilize in a 6.5x55 ? I see Fox factory only loads 100 and 123 gr for that chambering.

We do factory offerings in all the weights in 6.5x55
Yes, 139gr is perfectly stable in a standard twist 6.5x55 barrel
They will take up to 156gr in lead so a 139 isnt an issue

full price list and dealers/stockists on this link:
Bullets we can post (Postage of £2.80 -4 depending on order, free postage on any orders over £100)
