Is HIK Alpex A50T an upgrade on PARD 008 LRF?

Hi All,

Looking for some advice on this.

I currently have a Pard 008 LRF that has served me very well for almost 3 years now, and will have shot over 200 foxes with it without many issues.

I have some issues with it, mainly that it can lose zero pretty quick due to the mount design, and that the field of view seem small which makes target acquisition difficult.

My question is, if I were to buy a HIK Alpex A50T, would there be a noticeable step up in performance in terms of image quality & FOV? Is there much point upgrading or am I better trying to get hold of a C50?

A thermal scope is out of the question I think, can't believe the experience can be 2k better!

Thanks,

Bont

I have a 008 for ratting, and a longbow for foxing, i can only say 2k is well worth it, there's a chap selling a couple of longbows on here,
any chance you could view one of his , well worth a look through one.

Pretty much the same as you, used a 008 for three years and April i bought a C50, more features, better reticles, makes you realise how annoying a huge illuminated ret actually is. In that time zero is still on the money and hasn’t wandered.
I also quite like the base mag and having the PIP on the mag i want for the shot.
The C50 is definitely a better foxing scope, if there’s a little ambient moonlight you can see your quarry without IR and have the cross hairs on him before lighting him up.
Had a look at the Alpex, i wouldn’t swap my C50 for one but it’s pretty good.

yes not much between the C50 and Alpex.

I'm in the same boat, been using a 008 LRF for a couple of years , was great until the LRF stopped working....very annoying!

I was wondering about changing to a C50, but really find the LRF useful.

I was also waiting to see if the new pard that looks similar to C50 turned out to be any good?

Or does anyone know of something similar to C50 with an LRF that won't break the bank??

Also don't want a thermal scope as I prefer to locate with thermal spotter and then use NV to positively ID my quarry!

As the C50 is not available anywhere, is it worth holding off for until they are in stock & the extra £400 for the equivalent spec? Or would I be happy enough with the HIK?

A note about me... I'm very much focused on function and can my set up do the job. I value value for money above having "the best". What can do the job out to 200 yards reliably with minimal fuss?

Don't know if there's anyone else is like me, but I'm weary of spending more than required 😀

Comparing the 008 to the HIK
With the HIK, you'll have less base magnification, but more field of view and since it's a true tube type scope mounted in standard 30mm rings, less chance of it losing zero
Daylight image wise they're very similar, but at night, the HIK is more sensitive because it has a bigger objective lens
If the LRF function is important to you, then the HIK is not for you and you'd maybe be better waiting for the new PARD DS35

Cheers

Thermal with LRF is the by far the best option!

Only you can make that call, they have a few differences but both will do the job.

Thanks Bruce.

Do we have any visibility on when the Pard DS35 will be available to buy?

Thanks,

Bont
Not sure.
Steve Allen got one direct from PARD in China to test while SGC, the official importer and distributor did not even know about the new scope
Apparently, SGC now have a few samples here and the IR in them is being tested to make sure it's legal.
Once that testing is complete, and assuming the IR is legal, SGC will get stock for retail and to sell to retailers.
If all goes well, they should be available to purchase before Xmas

Cheers

Bruce
