I come from Stockport and would only consider such a question racist if I were from Scotland.
This is a follow up on Williams 'God Mother' who asked the same question of a black person and resigned in consequence after it was called a 'racist incident'.
This is obviously a spoof since the black community appears to be sensitive about such questions only when in the company of someone who might make the news and is white ?

Personally thought the said god mother was interested in the black persons cultural heritage and origins and non racial, started a thread to discuss these issues but had some very questionable responses and admin closed.

My take on this incident is simple, if you go around dressed like you are from some remote tribe, don't expect some clueless toff who only ever travels between their country pile and the palace to think otherwise.

An 83 year old woman who’s served the Royal Family for 60 years and comes from a generation who does ask questions like that, is thrown under a bus.

Ageism? Lack of appreciation of her culture? Possibly just self-promotion and virtue signalling on the part of the complainant?

The answer given was something like, "so your family is from the Caribbean". I cant confirm the exact detail so take this with a pinch of salt.
The old lady retainer made the mistake of asking a black peson and it was all over the USA before we knew anything had happened. Since the Uk is the most egalitarian country in the world and although there will inevitably be some idiots and racists - I dont for a minute believe the old lady meant anything by it - I could be wrong but as said above the eggshells are seriously thin if this sparks any comment other than, - "Silly old moo"
