Toyota Hilux are getting cheap - what happened?

Chassis recall.

Mine went into the dealer on July 1st.

I got a replacement vehicle on July 23rd.

As of last week, it’s still sitting at the dealer waiting to be picked up. It is apparently on the docket to be picked up ‘in the next few week’.

They say it will be a minimum of 14 weeks from when it gets picked up.

So I’m unlikely to get it back before mid March.

I must have been lucky, I dropped mine at the dealers at the end of July and was told it would be away for 8 weeks and sure enough my truck was returned at the end of September . I couldn't have asked for a better service my truck's driving like a new one

I honestly couldn't say a bad word about my local toyota dealer and I had never been through his door until the day of the initial inspection

3.2’s are ok, auto gearboxes can self destruct though.

Some 3.2’s are ok - it’s a lottery, mine washed 3 of 5 bores and had to have a motor replaced, two others bought at the same time are now junk as well….wouldn't touch one with a barge pole - Ford will basically laugh at you when you try to seek assistance.

I was scratching my head a bit wondering why the D-Max was commanding the same premium as the Hilux, albeit the higher spec D-Max trucks but that seems to be revealed to me now. I've not seen much of a bad word about the Isuzus, they seem to be fairly trouble free motoring considering what else is on offer at the moment

Just as well when my local Isuzu dealer charge £175 per hour for labour!!!

I think they’ve had a price levelling due to the BIK tax rules plus the recession that Rachel has put us in (but obviously that’s all someone else’s fault)
