Issues with PPU miss fire

Hi,
I'm a new shooter.
I bought a brand new Browning BLR in 30-06 and 100 PPU 150gr FMJ to get used to the rifle.
First time out 4 out of 7 shots (I stopped after that) didn't fire. All but one went on second firing.
I sent the rifle back and they said they put a new firing pin and spring in.
Second time out same issue but I shot more 8 out of 24 didn't go off first time, only one didn't go off at all.
I bought 20 Winchester 150gr. (Browning recommended ammo) all 20 fired perfectly but I baulk at £2 a round...
So, has anybody else had issues with PPU miss firing to this extent?

The only time it happened to me it was the firing pin that needed cleaning.
Just had a misfire with S+B blue energy it went on the on the second time.
Time to clean the bolt again

I’m afraid if you baulk at £2 a round this may not be the rifle for you 😂 ppu ammo is cheap, sounds like you got a duff batch

Let someone else try the rest in a different rifle.

Less than 40 rounds on a new rifle. And it's been back to the makers in the meantime.

I would ask your RFD to swap a couple of boxes but from a different batch number and try those. Also, check your spent rounds for evidence of light strikes.

I'm an avid user of PPU in a variety of calibre/cartridge variants and I've never had a miss or hang fire.

Good calibre 30-06. I have never had a problem with either factory or home loaded ammo. I would go with the advice of Cogswell & Harrison. Then I would load my own.
