He has been the biggest source of information about farmers and farming since the Archers was launched back in 1950.

The general public is at last beginning to realise how precarious an occupation farming is.

Just watched one there where he is was explaining about the stress over social media he was experiencing due to felling trees making more people eat their words.
 
Much as I once viewed him as a complete and utter d*ck, he’s remodelled himself in my eyes.
I think the change for him (and my change in perspective of him) came when he said that he realised that on his farm, he had never been happier.
Struck a chord with me.
Much as this was a brilliant master plan in money-making for him (the show), I think he’s put a few things in perspective and I applaud him for televising the reality of farming.

oh don't get me wrong he is still a massive D@£$ but he had mights it.
 
He may be rather eccentric and black and white (can you say that these days) but he is a natural entertainer and a friend of the Countryside - he runs a shoot.
I rather like Clarkson - his girlfriend is rather smart too. The single most important thing about him is he says what he thinks in a time when saying what you think is dictated more by likes than common sense. he may have a massive advantage as a farmer (millions of them) but he has exposed the precarious nature of farming these days and juxtaposed this against the Disney (someone above called it that) world of Countryfile. You may ask where the place of wildlife is in the countryside these days and the facts of farming life say something totally different to the idiot idyll people on the BBC, (Adam Henson partially excepted)
 
It's an extremely popular show out here . Hardly surprising when your surrounded by farmers and ranchers I guess . It is a good watch , I especially like the young guy he hired to help him out . The looks he gives Clarkson after he says something daft are priceless . More importantly , it does show how difficult it is to run a successful farm .

PS I don't think his tractor is too big either .
