Key Safe Recommendations

I'll tell you where I keep my keys just as soon as I've found them! Till then I find it easier to leave the door open, saves me faffing about with combinations, prying up floorboards and re-decorating the house each time I want to shoot! 🤦

Could I please implore you all to AVOID anything made by Masterlock - apart from maybe their 911 lock series? Anyone with any knowledge of locks know that Masterlock are awful and very very easy to pick.

The key safe for example can be opened by any untrained person in about 5 minutes using strips of metal made from a coke can.

I sent the above link to my firearms office when he suggested a key safe...

Their other locks are usually 4 pin locks, that lack security spool pins. They can be 'raked' open in seconds ... again even unskilled people can learn to open them in seconds.

ABUS are generally better but no padlock / key safe is will deter a professional thief.

As others have said earlier.. Hide your safe keys.

I'm not sure that can be true, since as far as I'm aware there's no requirement in law or guidance to keep the keys in a safe of any kind?
Correct.
In fact, as far as I am aware, there's not even a requirement in law to keep guns in a safe.
iirc, the bit about gun security just says "in most cases this will consist of a gun cabinet certified to BS--------"
(I forget the number).
The presence of a key safe is an invitation to any burglar.
I should think that the presence of a gun safe is just as much of an invitation, and either can be accessed with a grinder.
