I have an orange handle mora and a buck woodsman - both do the jobs i ask of them ie field dressing deer/rabbits and fishing.

Simon - I think you've hit it - best to try to handle as many as you can and see what suits you.

Everyone has their favourites - the hardest part is finding the one that will be your favourite. Unfortunately there is as much myth and legend surrounding knives as just about everything else in the sport add in that everyone will likely have slightly different needs and it doesn't go a long way to making things any easier!

Actually using one for what you intend is the best - but can be impractical. Good second avenue are events like gamefairs - or particularly the Stalkers Fair in March - should be plenty of choice and the opportunity to handle various products.
