I spanked the pants off my 110 and Defender but never managed to ground it.
I did sink it to the chassis a few times though
5 seat Defer/110 - 1,075lt cargo with the rear seats in place. Up to max 2,300lt with all seats down.
90 - 397lt cargo with the rear seats in place. Up to max 1600lt
In real world use, my experiences of weekend, remote camping with boat and diving used to see two people just about being able to share a 110 but a lot easier with one per vehicle.
However only one person & gear could travel in a 90 and depending on the task involved / kit being taken he'd likely have to put some gear in the 110s
I don't doubt that the 90 is a bit nimbler but not enough to outweigh the limitation of useable spaceNot to mention grounding every time you get into some serious off-road terrain,

Are you saying that you can get the same amount of gear in a 90 as a 110/Defender?the difference in load bed is inches.
