Landrover defender owners input...

We'll have to agree to disagree

Not to mention grounding every time you get into some serious off-road terrain,
I don't doubt that the 90 is a bit nimbler but not enough to outweigh the limitation of useable space
I spanked the pants off my 110 and Defender but never managed to ground it.
I did sink it to the chassis a few times though

the difference in load bed is inches.
Are you saying that you can get the same amount of gear in a 90 as a 110/Defender?

5 seat Defer/110 - 1,075lt cargo with the rear seats in place. Up to max 2,300lt with all seats down.
90 - 397lt cargo with the rear seats in place. Up to max 1600lt

In real world use, my experiences of weekend, remote camping with boat and diving used to see two people just about being able to share a 110 but a lot easier with one per vehicle.

However only one person & gear could travel in a 90 and depending on the task involved / kit being taken he'd likely have to put some gear in the 110s

A hybrid 100 incher on a new galvanised chassis of course from a shortened 110 body tub might be the dogs danglies.
You might just be able to build an as new vehicle from new spare parts cheaper now than the silly prices being asked for used wrecks.

I was in Portugal last week and saw this lightweight.

I think I’m going to have to buy one. Especially since I’ve just bought a new hilux that I can tow it with.

No 😂 I exaggerated a little, there’s quite a difference in cargo bed hence the problematic overhang.

Sold my lightweight to my optician three years ago for 8000 Euros he stripped it to the chassis sandblasted and rebuilt it adding a new engine as a winter project with his son.
