Larder in Container Unit Ideas

The Fischer larders do look very good. I spoke to them and they were very helpful and sent me some plans. I have got all the figures in my email but I seem to remember a module with a chiller and processing room was about 15K. This would be sufficient for processing and supplying deer under hunter exemption. A unit suitable for an AGHE was considerably more.

Might be worth speaking to these people:

Custom Shipping Container Conversions - S Jones Containers

I liked the look of their website. You might have an issue with height on a standard container but I believe you can get a high cube version.
I do think you would need the high cube.

I have one and it works a treat.

It looks a great larder system, was just wondering the height? I was looking a fabricating something for red deer. Kind regards Robbie
Sorry if I butted in. This is not a Fisher unit. This is a shipping container that has been converted into a chiller. It cost just over £6k in total. I perhaps should point out that it started life as an ambient unit built for the MOD. I bought it, chucked out the AC unit and installed a new chiller unit and railing.
I did look at the Fisher units but could not justify the costs, so waited till something came along that I could convert relatively easily.

Just an idea for you but how about a refere trailer or the box off a ridged unit if you want something shorter. Diesel driven chiller set to temp you want partition off to size you want

That seems a good price for what you have ended up with.
I built a 3m x 2m from scratch, using insulated panels. By the time I put in a base, drain, erected the panels, installed overhead rail to take weight of internal rail, chiller unit and internal rail, it cost me about 7k. Ive ended up with what I wanted, but not cheap. As someone has said, go for a ceiling height that gives plenty of room. I went for the 2.4m high panels, which seems alot, but by the time you have your rail and gambrel hanging down, you've lost quite a bit of height. On mine, a big stag will just clear the ground .

Thank you and I agree. Its not got the height I would like, but its ok. The good news is that when I have had enough of shooting deer, it will be easy to sell and transport. It is all stainless steel and the local environmental health folk love it.
