Off to the above in the morning and wondered if anyone has done the ' machine gun' experience? Yes I know its a bit predictable for us lot on here but I have never fired a weapon on fully auto, not even sure if its permitted over there as an ' experience'.

I've had a quick look online and there are many companies to chose from with an array of packages ( not cheap either!) any recommendations?

On my shopping list will be a Night master 800 IR or their equivalent ( Deerelight....or something similar) its no surprise they are apparently a lot cheaper. I don't think there are issues with bringing these back through customs!

I did my machine gun experience about forty plus odd years ago. Here in UK. Bren, GPMG. And STerling SMG in Germany. But I'd check very carefully about this as the law has changed regarding aliens accessing fully automatic weapons having said that take your FAC or SGC. When asked for ID show the picture....it opens quite a few otherwise closed doors. Don't waste time with a trip to the Pawn Stars BTW.

I have to admit I hated Vegas but many seem to like it. If you are travelling further afield you can do full auto at far lesser cost, for example at the Scottsdale gun club in Phoenix. The trouble with Vegas is that everything is designed to extract maximum cash from the suckers who visit!! We stayed at New York anew York towards the airport end of the strip and there were at least 2 machine gun experiences within walking distance. Wired place, hope you like it more than we did!

The Bass Pro shop is worth a visit, and if you buy anything just stick it in your luggage and say nowt, ive been there many times and never had a problem.
Regarding shooting ranges , you tend to get carried away and then it cost a fortune in fee's,
Have a good time, its great there.

I went to a Vegas gun shop that had a menu of full automatics to chooose from to use on their range in the back room. I chose an MP5, he handed me the gun and some boxes of ammunition and told me to take it out back. He’d asked for no ID so I asked how they knew it was safe to give me the gear. He indicated the gun on his hip and said he was “very quick on the draw”. Still the Wild West!

Out backthe range guy told me to load up then asked if I’d fired a machine pistol before. I said no, so he came over and told me to aim at the target and take a few single shots, then put his hand above the gun and told me to carry on shooting on full auto and ignore him standing there like that. He explained afterwards it was to stop the first-time client losing control and shooting up his ceiling. I’d expected the recoil to be backwards, but it’s more like someone has put their hand under the muzzle and suddenly pushed upwards hard.

I went to Vegas just before Christmas and found a deal called Burgers and bullets which was great deal they collected us from the hotel and drove us out stopping for a look at the Hoover dam then it was pistol, smg, assault rifle, machine gun and a go on the Barrett 50 and if you had had a good run on the tables you could let rip with the M2 followed up with a burger it was a 40min drive out of Vegas but fun and they threw in a monster truck ride as well

Went 2 years ago, some of my friends had done the main machine gun experience type deals that charge an awful lot for a quick rip through a magazine whilst having be loaded and unloaded by the staff for you. That didn’t appeal.
I found a couple of ranges that were actually used by locals as well as tourists and got far more value for money.
I went to American shooters which was an indoor 25 and 50 yard range, that was a short distance from the main strip that allowed you to rent a lane for a few dollars (around $15 I think) and then hire guns for a flat fee. I think pistols were $10 and rifles $15 then buy ammo at normal shop price. (Cheaper than uk!!)
3 of us hired an M4 5.56 a .308 FN SCAR, and a Glock 9mm ( they let us share the guns around) and went through a couple of hundred rounds between us, taking our time, for about £50-60 each in total.
We didn’t bother with the full Autostuff as we had done plenty of that courtesy of the queen but for the the full auto guns there was an uplift in cost as you had to be personally supervised by a member of staff so I think it was about 45 dollars plus ammo to hire something like an MP5 which was way cheaper than the places on the main strip.
its well worth looking at the proper ranges and emailing in advance as you will get more for your money and a less ‘churned through the turnstiles ‘ experience than the big tourist experience places which are apparently keen to see you squeeze off a mag in one big burst and move on.

Thanks for all your advice and suggestions, regarding buying an IR illuminator, I've been informed by one retailer today that it falls within ITAR and requires an export license, federal crime if caught! What I really wanted to say was that really shouldn't the state of Nevada tighten its own INTERNAL gun laws before slapping a restriction on what's essentially a ruddy torch.

+1 for Bullets and Burgers, was there 3 years ago. It's a one off, and I shot M16, SAW, Uzi, Mini Uzi, and a 50 cal.
Kev.
p
ps Burgers are good too !
pps I've got a NM800 ir I don't use, pm me if you're interested. It's like new!

Pleased I saw this thread we are going out in May so I messaged American Shooters and they seem very helpful. Anyone been over and brought a stock back before in their luggage? I want a Boyds thumbhole for my rimfire and I'm hoping I can get it shipped to the range then bring it back as Boyds don't deliver to the UK any more,

Stratts

And there was I thinking you'd reply that, of course, when you said "wasps" you were referring to all fifteen of them and the ball as well. Happy New Year VV.
