Nope. As an example, look up their Celebration Day concert.
Led Zep were indeed very successful over in your neck of the woods and I'm always pleased to hear how often they're still played on the radio over there but they were big here too! I went to a Robert Plant gig on Cannock Chase in 2015, pretty much home ground for Plant and certainly my childhood stomping ground, it was very well attended and one of the best gigs I've ever been to, pure magic! All of my favorite rock bands were from UK. Led Zeppelin is by far my favorite.
It’s always been my understanding Zep was huge in the US, but kinda panned in the UK.
Any merit to this?
I met him years ago on holiday in turkey.Robert Plant was a lurcher lover and had a beddy X grey Arthur , no ego with him sound guy signed a few albums for me !
Also check out the videos on YouTube from their two gigs at Knebworth, in 1979.
They were as popular here in the UK as anywhere.
We were at the cinema on Tuesday night watching the Bob Dylan film, which was very good by the way, and one of the trailers was for a Led Zeppelin film/documentary that is out soon - looked good. All of my favorite rock bands were from UK. Led Zeppelin is by far my favorite.
