Last but one time I had lunch in a pub in Worcestershire, Robert Plant was a few tables away also having lunch. Won’t name the pub because he’s a regular there.
Great thread, Learnt some awesome news from a mate in the music industry From 2026 they will be forming a super group with another giant of the era creating Led-Free Zeppellin
Unbelievable, well done mate, now that's some adventure! always wanted to go. The Festival in the Desert. I think it has now been cancelled thanks to Al Quieda, threatening everyone that dares to play electronic music. Thousands of guitars & other instruments burnt, folk threatened with beatings having their tongue cut out or death. Robert was a pioneer in promoting Malian music, bands like Tinariwen, Bombino, Ali Farke Toure, all masters of the Saharan blues. Slightly sick with envy. Thanks for sharing.
No not really, they were as big in the UK as in the US, for example the Earls Court concert in 75 and Knebworth in 79. They were not liked by the London based music press who used to regularly give them bad reviews in the music press. Probably because they were mainstream focussed and could not cope withe the energy, charisma and sheer balls out attitude of the greatest rock band in the world.
