Left handers and the ruger 10/22

Good evening all
Is it possible to get a left handed 10/22 or for a left hander to comfortably shoot one?
I saw a podcast on YouTube of an American guy who was left handed and says he regularly uses one.
I’ve never even thought of one before, due to being left handed.
I was wandering if anyone of here uses one as a left handed?

Cheers Rob

You can get a left hand 10/22s now. I've shot a right handed 10/22 for years mostly left handed without issue.

In gallery rifle target shooting you often shoot right and left handed, so plenty of people use RH guns LH.

Yes. There was one in Edinburgh Rifles a while back, but think it has since sold - think it was some premium "custom shop" one though... Well too much money for my tastes.

They may be able to source a new one?

I'd imagine you'll struggle to find used ones on guntrader as the vast majority of them probably aren't worth the advertising costs.

I have shot a right handed 10/22 a few times. Being left handed i find the gas coming out of the ejection port into my right eye quite irritating along with the brass flying in front of me.

Thanks for the reply’s everyone
I might leave the 10/22 idea for a while, if I could find a left handed one i
Might look into it. I don’t like the idea of getting stuff in my eyes. Lol

Cheers Rob

I’m left handed and shot a right handed 10/22 no problem, but I wear glasses so most ejected crud (unburnt powder etc) stopped by them. I was oblivious to cases being ejected until the odd red hot one somehow found its way down my right cuff, that got my attention.
I also had a tricked up rifle that wasn’t that accurate really and had to be stripped down and cleaned more than I really liked to keep it from malfunctioning.
I won’t be going back to a 10/22, my bolt action CZ works fine for me currently. If I was still lamping the big numbers of rabbits I did back in the day I might look for another semi automatic 22, but I don’t have that need presently.
