Leica Ultravid HD Plus Vs Swarovski EL SV

Hi guys.

Wondering if if you could help.

Im looking at some Leica Ultravid HD+ 8x42 binos. really like the look of Leica stuff and love my Leica Rangefinder.

However i’ve Heard good and bad about their warranty and service, more bad than good.

Would I be better paying a bit more and getting the Swarovski EL 8.5x42 Swarovision? The Swarovski warranty seems to be legendary and my local dealer has his own EL’s repaired FOC under warranty.

They are are about the same price as the Leica Noctivids which people seem to rate highly.

Ive had Zeiss, Leica and Swarovski bins, currently use Geovid HD-bs. The best of the lot optically was a pair of Ultravid Hd 7x42.

I have got the Ultravids (in 10x42), my wife has the 8x32 Swaros.
I have massive buyer's regret, and wish I had bought the same binos as her: the Swaros are simply stunning.
Never had to use the warranty on either, so cannot comment on that.

I know someone that is selling a second hand pair of Swaro [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]8.5x42 EL. I think he wants about £900, some wear on the body but perfect glass apparently. My guess is that Swaro might service them FOC ? PM if you're interested and I'll put you in touch.[/FONT]

Have a look at Leica London stores they have ex demo on there which brings the price down to more reasonable amounts with some warranty too!
