How long did it take you to get used to not having the heal?
I can't really answer that because I've been running in zero drop trainers for years...but I vaguely remember it took a couple of weeks for my calves and achilles to adjust. If you are knocking about in cuban heels its going to take a while. I'd build up gradually - get used to them around the house first, then go for a walk. It's worth looking on youtube as there are lots of guides on how to transition. People are generally heel strikers, mid sole strikers or forefoot strikers - if you are the latter you want to work on walking with a mid or fore stike.
