Lightweight moderator

What options are out there for lightweight moderators / suppressors for the UK market?
America have lots of options but getting one is impossible so I was wondering what everyone else is using.
My original search was for titanium and it will be going on a 6.5 creedmoor…

Thanks in advance for your input.

Iam currently in the same boat for exactly the same calibre. After a sound demo at ivythorn comparing against a few others. The Freyr and devik uts titanium mods are very much at the top of the list.
I just put an F&D UTS 131 on my 7x57 Merkel K3. Just enough sound reduction and it shifts the balance point about 7 mm towards the muzzle. I'm happy with that. One of those "cry-once" items (I hope).

It generally does, but the top page of results doesn't show me any threads focused on lightweight moderators. What did I miss?
The exact point I made this thread…All I want is what people are using and there opinions on sound reduction / recoil reduction..

Why doesn’t someone link up with the Americans and start importing there suppressors? We would have a lot more choice…

I had a DPT on my old 6.5, it was great - lightweight and the noise suppression was good.

Sold that rifle and bought another 6.5, it came with a F&D "Featherweight" mod. It's so light I literally don't notice a difference to the rifle weight/handling without it. Sound suppression is worse than the DPT though, it is a bit louder.

Both are good choices for stalking.

Here's the F&D and DPT alongside each other. The LH offset is to align the point where the thread starts. As the DPT is an over-barrel design, it adds less to the rifle's OAL than the F&D. I'll check them on the scales once my better half is finished in the kitchen!1000030702.jpg
The DPT is also for a light rifle, an HS2000, with a slim 22" barrel in 6.5CM.

Update: weight is around 260 g for the DPT vs. 140 g for the F&D.

The reason we don’t see American made silencers is because of the American governments export restrictions. Silencers are controlled differently to firearms and can’t be exported for private use of non US citizens outside of America. I have experience of exporting firearms from America and tried damn hard to export silencers. Currently it can’t be done. It might change in the future with legislation amendments but that’s on going.

Why would you want to import American mods?
They are widely regarded as significantly less efficient than the vast majority of the Scandinavian makes

Well, that’s the first time I have heard that statement. Freyr and Devik appear to be over the controversy of the exploding episode as do A-Tec with the reports of failures loosing traction rapidly.

At the time i was involved it certainly wasn’t the case of just efficiency but strength to weight ratio. There were also other features utilised by a certain manufacturer that interested me.

Manufacturing has developed across the board now with some excellent 3D printed products coming to the market. All be it at a cost, which I find is at odds with the uk market. People just don’t want to spend a lot of money to capture gas.

FWIW I’m a long time user and advocate of F&D moderators and I’m currently running a FW149 (149g) on my .243, a UTS131 (131g) on my .270, a UTS231 on my heavyweight .308 and an Oceania Defence Alpine Hunter (167g) on my lightweight .308 as stalking moderators. For load development and initial zeroing, I use Wildcat EVOs on the range.
