Which trophy shield for fallow buck ?

I really cannot see what you blokes are complaining about (fallow heads) they are no harder than any other..a lot easier in fact as they are quite small. We use the same old method for any deer skulls (if for inside). I understand that many of you don't have space or the wood or the tolerant neighbours but its simple as all ****.
Any decent vessel ie fuel drum or such and for over the top I simply use the axe to cut a square out of some sec hand roof iron and of a size that it overlaps the perimeter of the vessel so as to stop flames licking the antlers. Washing powder is good to add as it has caustic soda in it..the reason it stings ones hands when using it to wash grease off.
Pommy SD bloke boiling out after two good shots for two stags...and the bastard clover leafed the .300 win mag test shots at a 100. :british:

That is a terrific stag and good on you for making the memory of him permanent.

I once had some outstanding wild dog skulls...their large dentition made them absolute stand outs. Put them into buckets of bleach and let the chemical do its job. Took them out after a bit and they were really white. Then they crumbled in to white powder. I'd left them in for too long.

Kind of curious Tim do you do aught with those heads? I've been after a representative fallow antler for a while now.
They stay there as people who call in like to see the pile, and the dogs like to run around with the smaller ones I cut off 🤪
You should book a trip half way down England as there a 1000's of them around, shoot one and it will mean a lot more to you.

I see I see, I should but Its also a pain too go down and shoot them when we could probably be shooting 100 red deer here yearly 😓

We used to travel to Lincolnshire for many a season as each time we went we dialled in a bit more, a November trip would be different to a March trip as they learnt and moved a good 100 yds further along to cross the rides so would often be shot at 250.
It might be sideways rain a 6.30 so just get in a tower and wait, rain stops sun comes out "deer come out" then get stuck in!
