Lightweight smock/jacket recommendations

Anyone got any recommendations for a lightweight jacket or smock for warmer weather stalking. I’ve seen plenty online but a bit of first hand experience would be nice. Thanks.

Used one of these for the last 15 years or so for summer stalking, really rate it

Bought one of these for summer use and find myself using it pretty much all year round

Both are really well made and I would buy them both again.

Anorak No. 8 M

Brilliant jacket. Got mine for an absolute steal on eBay Second Hand few years back. G1000 material is tough as nails. Wax it and layer up underneath for the winter months then give it a wash and wear over a T-shirt or light weight thermal or jumper in the summer months. Never let me down and the pocket kangaroo style pocket is great if you need to carry some kit but want to travel light.👌

These are good value…https://www.helikon-tex.com/en_eur/ku-wdn-dc-woodsman-anorak-jacket.html

I got one to use in the summer and found that i tend to use it most of the time as it’s very versatile as you can layer up according to the weather. It’s nice and light weight, very breathable, has under arm vents if you need to cool quickly without taking it off and will still protect you from the wind and light rain.

I’ve got one of those. Similar to the one Westley linked to I think; I really rate it and find it very versatile.

Now that is a proper hood!

Always meant to give their stuff a try but as yet haven’t got round to it.

I use a Paramo hooded wind shirt(forget the model, think it begins with B!) washed in Nik Wax water proofer. Keeps dry in light to medium rain for shortish periods but after that you start getting damp!

Ex Mod stuff I picked up a 100% cotton Mtp smock.Plenty of pockets light weight.Granted not waterproof but dries in no time and rolls up small.

If you want to go really lightweight then these are good on hot summer evenings:-

Not waterproof, but small enough to stuff into a trouser pocket back or hand warmer pocket and pull out when the temp drops a bit.

I have the helikon Windrunner in pencott green and it is great for keeping the wind off and fits in your pocket, their gear seems well made and I have a pair of their woodsman trousers that again seem very good so far
