What is the import tax likley to cost?

Did you have to pay local tax on the items as well?

My understanding was that you didn't need to pay the local equivalent of VAT, but then paid it here?

I did pay local tax as well. I suspect that the supplier couldn't be bothered to update their system for Brexit, hopefully will change in due course.

Yes, import tax seemed to be 20% for both orders based on total order value (including postage cost). First one incurred 5% import duty but second order didn't??

It's not itemised or explained very well. I just got bills from fedex with values for Import duty, tax and handling fees.

Looks like I'll have to phone a friend in Ireland who had the foresight to set up an 'Import/Export' business on both sides of the border.
