Load data 6.5PRC

Evening folks,
I'm after some proven load data for 6.5prc with a 140g bullet.
I've tried n165 and reloader 25 however both are proving to be a bit of a pain. Accuracy is brilliant however velocity is slow for both. I've exceeded Max charge on the n165 and hit Max charge on the reloader however only still getting 2740fps...book data shows 3150fps so it's clearly a bit off or are bergara barrels slow like tikka? 😂🤦
Cheers

Edit to add - the n165 loads are brilliant on the accuracy front. Tried earlier and first round hit at just over 350 with a cold, clean bore on a balloon around 4 inches in size, enough to take a deer with.

Data shown in Hornady app is achieved with a 26" barrel, what is yours?

53gr of N560 with 140 Eld-m gave me 2960. 53.5gr of N165 with 147 Eld-m gave me 2880 with ES in single figures. Going to stick with the heavier bullet and load up some with N568.

Thanks for that. In that case I'm wondering if bergara barrels are slow... It's coming up to 60 rounds now so unless there's a drastic change and it speeds up considerably, I may have to go down the n560/n565 route and see if I can get the velocity that way. Impressive velocity with the 147 though. I may get a few to try.

You don't say how much RL25 you tried, but the load data would suggest it's capable of good speed with circa 59.5g. What have you tried ?

I'm using RL26, 143g ELD-X, and getting 3070fps, 22" barrel.

@hendrix's rifle , have you tried the following?

1. Check your scales and/or powder measure

2. Try a different brand of primer (what are you using?)

3. What is your current COAL? Seem to remember that Begara made the mistake of using a short action for the PRC but they may changed to long)

4. Have you had a look to see how long the throat is on the chamber?

Checked scales and they appear ok.
Primer is CCI BR2, not a magnum primer. I did some testing with my RM and didn't find much of a difference in velocity at all.

Coal is off load data - 2.95inch, you're correct that bergara did make it a short action 🤦

Not checked chamber?

Did you get any factory fodder speeds yet?
Unfortunately not, I'm going to try tomorrow if I can get out. I have a few rounds left but it's enough to give a velocity to compare too. I've also stoked up the rl25 to see if I can get any more velocity that way.
Also maybe worth noting, during the last 3 rounds the velocity shot up nearly 100fps, I've probably touched 60 rounds down the tube now so I wonder if over the next 20-30 if velocity will be on the increase. Either way, I'll report back tomorrow hopefully with some promising data

I also appear to have made an error, I thought I saw max book charge as 57 so stopped at 57.5. I've done some loads from 58.5-59.8 to see if that's going to give the results I expected. Also going to try and get some 147's and try again with n165
