Loads for 110gn v-max .270

Hi,
Just received a box of 110gn Hornady v-max for my .270, have loaded 3 of each 58, 58.5, 59, 59.5gn of N160 Vithavuori as a test batch which i will try out tomorrow at the target, has anybody used 110gn through there .270 any results would help,

Have only just noticed the thread. Now I have never used any 110's in the .270 but I do have some Remington 100 Gr PSP's that I have been playing with and I have not got a chronograph yet. It's on the to get list

Your V-Max's are doing better than my PSP's as I am only getting about MOA .

I do not have a chronograph it is on my list to buy one, i am still messing about at target with other loads and will have to get a loan of one from my mate when i find my sweet load, but i think i have a long way to go yet, plenty of target practice

try 59g of h4831 .i seat the bullet at 2.790" off the ogive but cal depth works well in most .270 i use them in my 270 one hole grouping 150yds.

This load seems to tolerate fairly varied bullet seating depths - I have to seat mine to give a COL of .277 measured off the ogive. It's doing 3155 FPS over my chrono' and is as accurate a load as you'll find IF your .270 isn't one of the fussy ones that only likes 130gn bullets!

Increasing neck tension seems to improve accuracy in my rifle and the other one I load for - around 0.003" off neck tension is about right, although the press handle needs a good tug. I may play around with crimping as well and see what that does.

58.5gns of Reloader 22 is a good alternative for H4831 with this load, although the new Reloader 17 looks like it could offer scope for some reduction in powder (8-10% less) with similar or even slightly increased velocity. Not sure if it's any good for deer but would make a good fox round.
