Please, as above, walking boot long socks please, have been recommended decathlon’s ones, keen for options, want long socks only, for tall (11 inch high) stalking boots and wellies.
Thanks

Personally for walking, I’ll only buy Bridgdale.
Hmm, interesting, last lot of them I had seemed to lose shape and elasticity but I can’t remember how long I had them before that happened so I may be doing them a disservice possibly!

Cqn't beat wool for socks unlikely to get blisters with wool warm in cold weather even if you are unfortunate enough to
get wet feet they are still not uncomfortable..
Cotton is the exact opposite of the above and should be avoided for those reasons ok when wearing a pair of trainers
but thats about it.

Harkila Pro hunter long socks, had them as a present.
Had my pair for years now and they are just starting to get a bit flat and losing elasticity so slide down after awhile

I recently invested in another three pairs of Meindl long hunting socks...I realised that every time I went to the drawer to get socks for a beating day I was disappointed if I had forgotten to wash my original pair and had to use something else...only took me a few years to come around to it....

The only downside is that they are slightly different from the original ones in that they are handed...or footed...and have L or R on them. Just like the Bratton Sound gun cabinet keys, sod's law determines that you always put the wrong one on first...

Meindl Hunting Socks.

Without doubt the best knee high socks I've ever owned. Ribbed, fitted, fit my big calves. Smart enough to wear with breeks and boots/brogues, warm and comfortable, with an elasticated top that stays up where it should. I've been wearing them in their previous iteration for the last three or four years, and have managed to wear out two pairs in that time. The current version is as Alantoo says, slightly different, but they're even better if anything. They're merino wool mix, so wonderfully warm and comfortable. Need to be washed carefully, like any other wool socks, but even Mrs Scape hasn't managed to shrink any of the ones I've had. They do a short version, but they won't go under 11" boots as they're not quite tall enough.

Smartwool great, Decathlon great till the elastic fails and my cheapest option Russian army wool socks .Durable, hard wearing and unissued, being wool warm and toasty .

As above:

Summer - Rovince anti tick
Winter - Harkila Expedition Sock
Round the house - army surplus artic/Bridgedale.

Darn Tough. Lifetime guarantee! I’ve used Bridgedales for years and I’ll be getting more Darn Toughs - far more comfortable and hard wearing.

Amazing reviews and warranty, but they don’t ship to the U.K. checked through their U.K. suppliers and got nowhere. Any help appreciated, after the Mountaining ones.
Thanks
Edit - Found, thanks for the post Dr S.
