I got a magpie the other day, after borrowing a call bird from a keeper. The male won't come down to the trap. How long should I leave his mate in the trap?

Give the one you got from the keeper back and use the caught one as your call bird you can't leave that one in the catching side without food and water for more than 24 hrs .it is best to check morning and evening with a move every few days just a Few hundred yards can make a difference .

Am in desperate need of magpie call bird, counted 10 magies on the nearby football field on Sunday and ares is alive, will soon catch some if I can get a call bird.
