Is there someone out there in Scotland (fife, tayside, stirling area )who works a pointer on roe deer that can come along and help me out,I have 5 roe in a plantation that need sorting out,if interested can you pm me please, tia,w

Does it have to be a Pointer?
I know a lad who works a teckel that I believe might be interested, who lives near Edinburgh.
There's also a guy south of Glasgow that I know who has a GSP and stalks, but don't know how far he travels.
I'll ask him next time I see him.

I do this task fairly regularly and imo get a couple of noisey terrier types to move them about, it's a completely different task to following up on a shot animal.
If the Roe know they are fenced in don't be surprised if they clamp in cover like rabbits
A lad with good hunting spaniels would be ideal as hitting cover will move them.

I would need about forty guns to cover the size of the wood, that’s why I thought about a slow walk up with a pointer

Fair enough, I find deer that know they are fenced in and in good cover are some of the hardest to manage especially when flying solo.
Free standing high seat on a well used run and sit it out?
