Medal sizing

I was curious to know how medal sizing works and does this have a different outcome with different deer? Which part of the antlers are measured and what to look put for. I also read on another post that it also comes down to weight?

It’s just for general knowledge. I am not one for going after medals but it’s just something I would like to learn more about.

Different species score in different ways, roe on weight and volume primarily, muntjac solely measurements (length, spans, diameters) red mix of weight (which is a deciding factor, coupled with points, lengths and span) they all vary
