Joining the NRA also mean that you have more status or kudos in the bar, (if you are a heterosexual man) you are much more attractive to women, and once passed your probation, you are almost certainly taller...

Big floppy leather hats, and denim/leather jerkins, bedecked with a plethora of badges, will only come with time.

But, if you ARE in the South East:
- a great range complex that you can book for your own use
- good training courses, including reloading, and different shooting techniques etc
- regular competitions - there are now Sporting Rifle events, and PRS might also be useful for stalkers
- a good Armoury, who will hold your rifles etc for you at reasonable cost if you are waiting for your renewal, or do RFD to RFD transfers.

I joined about 4 years ago, and have been really pleased I did

As @Sash says, plus

Membership of the biggest Home Office approved club
£10million liability cover for pretty much all shooting, including pest control, and even beating/picking up. Satisfies the owners of my permissions so I don't need separate CCC or BASC cover.
£10,000 insurance cover for your own shooting kit
A wide range of firearms to hire from the Armoury, at very modest prices, for example half day hire of a scoped Accuracy International £31.50, or a straight pull L1A1 for £18.00, and you don't even have to clean it after use. :)
NRA Shooting Club, usually 2 days a month, can shoot multiple firearms at multiple, (usually 3 or 4) distances in a half day session. I've done 25yds, 200yds, 600yds & 1,000yds in one morning session.
Guest days, bring up to 4 friends to have a go, with free loan of some of the NRA firearms, just add ammunition. Scoped Savage 12 FTR in .308, straight pull AR-15 in .223/5.56, SMLE in .303Brit. Plus you can bring your own for them to have a go with as well.
Sizeable discount on annual membership of the National Clay Shooting Centre at Bisley, £80 instead of £140

If you are within a reasonable travelling distance, a great option that I feel gives me great value.

Is there any advantage to joining a Bisley-based club (say BSRC) and the NRA? I’m not a member of either (or indeed any target shooting clubs) but considering joining one or the other or both (assuming that they’ll have me of course!)

The NRA’s individual insurance scheme does help owner concerns in areas such as losing your license. Can anyone confirm which other bodies offer this as a comparison?

Did nit see any benefits of the membership. Did not even get the response on the legal enquiry when the club I was in was closed.

No SD members lauding this entity North of Watford then?
Truth is for what I need to do (zeroing) I can do it at Garlands and be there and back in a morning, or afternoon and not the balls ache of the M1, M25 and M4. Even pre-M25 when you went past Epsom Racecourse the journey was still a "slog" and with fuel the price is it's too expensive. I don't even go for the Trafalgar Trade Fair any longer. Miserable git? Or just that for the cost of the fuel I can spend that money on half a slab of cartridges and some sporting clay shooting three miles away from where I live.
