Dear Sirs,
as we know in this festive season it is usual and customary to send somebody Seasonal Greetings and wishing them a Happy New Year whilst thanking them for their business by sending them a gift of sorts.
We would like to remind everybody that when sending gifts to or from the UK those gifts will unfortuneatley be subject to Customs Clearance procedures.
When these gifts contain food or wine we must also be aware that the goods could be subject to customs control measures (i.e. both documentary and physical checks) and will be subject to duty , import vat and excise duty.
As we do not want to spoil anybody’s Christmas /New Year celebrations and as we cannot be put into a situation that maybe goods will be seized you are informed that any gift being sent to the UK or Italy during this period will automatically see the shipper of the goods being billed for all customs charges and operations irrespective of the Incoterms being used.
Also please further note that where we are not given a value of the goods we will insert the current market value of the goods in question for Customs purposes.
Best regards
