Mincer recommendation

I've been using a fairly cheap Lakeland electric mincer for the last 7 years without a hiccup doing 50-70 animals a year. I quickly learnt that if you partially froze the dice you were mincing then sinew clogging stopped and it keeps the mince temperature low, which IMHO is essential as mincing and burger/sausage prep puts heat into the mixture.

I had an Andrew James one for years but I believe they're no longer available. How much do you intend to use it? If it's for say a roe a month, one like the butcher's sundries one will be fine. If you're tackling 2 or 3 fallow a week, buy a bigger one like a buffalo or the bigger trespade.

An older Kenwood chef (they have powerful motors) with an attachment is surprisingly good and cheap to find second hand on marketplace etc.

Be careful with cheap mincers they tend to struggle with sinus/silver cuts also not as easy to clean or maintain. I bought a cheap one them I bought a “proper” Italian one at a game fair years ago still going strong minces anything
