Bush wear mincer

Rusty knife

Hi was wondering if anyone has a bush wear mincer i bought one new Ive used it once but it didn’t cut very well ( Before anyone starts it was assembled correctly 🤣 ) just wondering how everyone else gets on with them. Dose chilling the meat before mincing help. There needs to be less swearing next time it’s out 🙈

Chilling the meat to almost frozen helps

Chilling the mincer head (screw blade etc) helps

Not filling it with silver skin helps as no mincer can really deal with that (remove or cut across the silver )

Not overfilling and jamming the pusher in hard helps as that tends to result in a lot of meat getting mushed by the screw rather than cut by the blades

Cut yerr meat into strips thst can drop easy in then dont need to use stuffer just keep feeding it straight into worm drive

As previously. Cold as possible, least sinew and sliver skin as possible. Don't overwork it, let it cool down after 5 mins or so. Or buy a Trespade.

Just buy trespade or similar quality strong machine. Yes you can pre-cut or pre-chill and remove sinew, but the extra time involved all adds up to many hours per year.

I bought one earlier this year, because. Absolutely no problems with it. Don't always chill the meat that much, but I do cut the meat into strips so I don't need the stuffer, much.
Just to add, it's had much of 4 roe and 2 reds through.

My experience of mincers is that you get what you pay for.
My caterright mincer was crap. Noisy and slow but supposedly capable of mincing loads, yet I blew it up by putting 85kg of meat through it in a day.

Replacing with one of the ones of weschenfelder which looks like the biz!
As for not cutting, the same applies, although if it’s been designed well then the blade should be self sharpening as it runs over the plate. If it doesn’t then it’s badly made, and likely to perform similarly to the one above!!
