Minox binoculars - different grades?

I am so impressed with my BV 10*42's, I think they were about £100, in fact, I prefer them to zeiss dialyt 7x42's due to weight and similar optics and waterproofing - and yes, I compare side by side in my comments, from woodland to hill, but ok, in almost darkness, the zeiss are a bit clearer.

are you serious PKL a £100 pair of Minox are as clear as a £1000 pair of Zeiss ? If so I will buy a pair. What is the exact model and number ? Where did you buy them from ?

Hi mate,

BV 8X42's (sorry not 10x42's), but 8x is even better from a multiuseability perspective IMHO. Got them from Denmark on sale, but believe they're around that price here as well - try amazon or similar or google shopping.

I really really rate these highly, not just impressed by them because I've tried nothing else, I've tried a number of others, hence my comparison to something generally rated as superb. mind, will the minox's last a lifetime like the zeiss, no,,but a good few years I do believe. I've even used them as a bipod a few times, and they work pretty well for that too!

Thanks for all the replies so far chaps - I am probably going to pop to my local camera store (who just happens to be a Minox dealer) and try the BV against the HG and see what I think. If the BVs are as good as people seem to think then that may well be a good starter with a view to move to the HGs later on for the better quality.
