MOA Challenge Sat 8th June

Can’t make this one but will be at the others

Quite a few new folk booked on so should be a varied mix of skill sets

Good luck to all attending 👍🏻

Up there today. You’ll have a cracking time, especially if the sun is out, not a midge in sight either! The usual tricky winds help keep the ego in check after the satisfyingly delayed “ting” comes back.

Was fine to meet you Dave. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, that'll do me. Getting past the first target, anything else is a bonus.

Was up today with big Chris (Not big John! :) ) and even with the weather was great fun as ever! But... tyre blow out leaving (Nee spare with a new Volvo apparently!) meant hours on B709 due to AA total ineptitude and not get back home until 02:30am..... not looking like ill make the comp today now.

Will they post event results on the website? I’d be curious to see what equipment everyone was using and how the attendees did.

There will likely be photographs of the day posted and a report with results

Kit list isn’t usually posted but you can glean info if you need it from the images 👍🏻

One aspect of the kit that was interesting was the range of muzzle devices. There were -
  • Bare barrels
  • Muzzle brakes
  • Tuner brakes
  • Moderators
The top guys seemed to be majoring on Tuner brakes. I mistakenly stayed in position after shooting and got blasted by a muzzle brake - not pleasant at all.

Regards

JCS

Brilliant day. As malc said we got very lucky with the weather. Windy but dry until the very end of the competition! Very pleased to take first overall with my 65prc. Well worth the trip up from Southampton! We will be heading up again next year that's for sure!

Highly recomend anyone considering it to just go for it. Very friendly bunch and plenty of long range shooting to be had!

Honestly scares the **** out of me these brakes if your next door. I shot next to a 338 lap the other day with a brake…. Required double ear defenders and jacket on for the flying gravel. Bloody heathens!

You'd be nothing without that carpet tile 🤣🤣🤣.
Good shooting Tom, and a pleasure as ever.

Haha it was all down to your patented carpet tile!!!
Indeed! Thanks for letting me sends some rounds down the 284. Really torn now as to what route to go!
