Modular chiller and cutting room- experience needed

Good morning all,
An impending house move is meaning my chiller and butchery arrangements are under review. Mrs Selous is keen that her new kitchen remains free of butchery so I am looking at other options.
I see that there are modular containerised units available from several sources ( Tennants, Fisher and Gamecooler-Niall Rowantree).
Is there any collective experience with any of these units? Are they well thought out and well made? Is one brand significantly better than the other? Are the cutting rooms of adequate size? I know they won’t be enormous but are they big enough to swing a hind?? I would be particularly interested in any shortfalls that have been encountered.
Many thanks

It’s all down to how much you want to spend. A garage or shed conversion will be cheaper. I like the idea of a container if you have room can then be moved on if you wanted to sell or moved house again

I recently got some prices from Fisher. Nice but not cheap. Probably more suitable for commercial operations.

I would consider a 15 or 20ft high cube container fully lined with insulation and a monobloc chiller.

A friend has done a 20ft one and I was very impressed.

That’s a good thought. Has anyone seen the ones from Niall Rowantree at gamecooler as these seem to be the most reasonably priced?

Mrs B doesn't share the same aversion to kitchen butchery, but like you I've seen the pursed lips and the folded arms from Mrs S that would make me reluctant to negotiate on this.

Give @Game Larder a shout. They have over 40 years of experience in refrigeration and this is right up their street. They will sit down with you and talk through the specifics of exactly what you want. They can then design something that you want and not just something off the shelf.

Happy to send you their contact details if you like.

If you are heading to the stalking show then stop by for a chat with them.

Have you looked at the chiller trailers, on wheels, can be easily moved/repositioned.

Could do with something with a cutting room as well. Would certainly consider it as an option. Who makes them?
You can get them with cutting room too, just size may be limited.
There are others that do them. Looked at them at the stalking show last year.

If you're on a budget, don't dismiss the option of getting a refrigerated lorry back and fitting it out to your own spec.

Having said that, no matter how much you end up spending you will consider it money well spent. Having a proper designated larder and butchery area, easy to clean and with everything to hand, will massively increase the pleasure of the processing part of stalking.
