Monarch Stalkers Kwik-Slip Rifle Case

I have one and used it as well as another slip over last 2 years. Excellent quality as you would expect with an Ogdens product. Great protection for rifle and scope. It is on the heavier side for a slip due to thickness of the material etc. When wearing it as haversack style I find it to be too low on the back of the legs if walking up or downhill. You can change the bottom strap points so that it sits at an angle across the back and away from back of legs which helps. I have changed the straps around so that it is ‘upside down’ and sits much higher on my back, however that means the rifle rests on the zip closure which is not ideal.

Overall a great piece of equipment especially if mainly walking on flattish ground.

hi l would look at Ogdens product. he gear will last l got some and it still look good l with quarrybank

The Monarch cases are made by Phil Ogden.

I have two of Phil's QuickSlips and I can see no need to ever change. If and when they ever wear out they will be replaced like-for-like.

Well made, protective, plenty of space for all the ancilleries. I would echo the comment above by @Quarrybank, in that it has a tendency to foul the back of the legs when worn as a backpack, but I can certainly live with that.

I've had two, and can confirm excellent build-quality, and enough room for sandwich, thermos etc.

The comments about the catching of legs are interesting. The first one I got did this to me (5'8"), so I passed it on to a pal (nearer 6'6") who found it fine.

Mr Ogden then made me a second one, with the upper fixing-points for the shoulder straps lower on the case, so it was carried higher. That solved the problem.

A grand bit of gear. Should it wear out, I would happily have another the same.

That’s interesting about Phil making one with lower fixing points. I had toyed with the idea of talking to him about that and sending mine to him for modification. Think you would be doing well to wear it out though 😁

I am 6' 4" and find it no more than an inconvenience really. It hadn't crossed my mind to speak to Phil about alterations but now that you make mention of it I can't understand why it never occured to me!
