I have a 20g mossberg HP pump, quiet enough to shoot without ear protection.
Got to be at least half of a regular 12g.
I havent put a ton of ammo types through it, just some gamebore super competition subs and some regular gamebore 20g, the comp loads have brought crows down at 50yrds no problem.
Seen a few people like the Eley subs.
Hull also do 20g subs.

I was torn between a 12g and a 20g, happy enough with the 20g.
Maybe someone on here is close enough for you to try theirs before you buy.
Bit of a different beast, but I have a well loved single barrel Baikal .410 that I put one of the Hushpower interference fit mods on - it's very quiet, even with standard 2.5in cartridges.
I use it for blatting squirrels in the trees. If I was hoping to do any kind of wing shooting, however, I'd definitely look at the 20g.

They are quite front heavy, short pull on them.Hopefully going to look at a 20g tomorrow or Friday if all goes well & providing its all ok I might well indulgein view of the reply’s on this thread. Thanks for the input

Id chuck a strap on it for walking about with otherwise it can get in the way.
When aiming the can blocks your sight picture of the target so either get used to not seeing the bird or chuck a picatinny rail with a channel down the middle on it as a rear sight.

Just to add another option...
I have a Mossberg .410 hushpower...with a much larger moderator on it than the one in the video, but still only half barrel length and one of the O/U 20g Hushpowers with a full length moderator which looks like a miniature punt gun...
Noise wise is really difficult to gauge...but there is not much difference between say standard / non-Hushpower .410 cartridges through the Mossberg and Hushpower 20g cartridges through the Investarm because of the full length moderator.
Depending on what you are using it for I think the full length moderator on the 20g is easier to sight along...apart from anything else the top edge is closer to the top of the top barrel.
As you are in Kent it would be worth going to see the full range at Hushpower HQ.

Slight tangent - Does anyone know if you can buy the moderated barrels separately? (Already have a 410 pump)
Have a look on the website...they were offering guns with two barrels, moderated and standard...so they must be buying in extra barrels...

I have spoken with Hushpower HQ, (very helpful). Quite a wait if your wanting something new from them. Is the gun in the top of the photo a Fabarm ? The reason I ask is that I have one in 4.10 & could maybe have it converted as a second option.

Investarm I think/presume. I have never taken the moderator off that one and I think it must obscure the makers name...I had a look when I took the photo for you...if you look at the website link above it illustrates it and refers to it as Investarm.
However they do talk about converting your own gun so well worth asking them...
I called in and had a look at the second hand ones they had in stock...but then ended up picking mine up elsewhere...the .410 from a fellow SD member who responded to my Wanted ad. The 20g from an ad. on Guntrader I think.

That makes two of us...I had to look it up....for some reason I keep thinking it is a Yildiz...or at least that is the first name that comes to mind. I have made the mistake so many times now that at least I know I have to check on their website!Sorry I meant Investarm, not Fabarm
