Moving from 17 hmr to 22lr

I’ve got both and a 12flb air rife. I’m thinking of going fac air as a few of my fields are full of flint so the .22 is a no-no on most of them. They all have their uses. I really like the .17 but with modern night vision I can take the .22 further out now on fields without flint and with good backstops.

One massive advantage the 22 has over all other calibres is the noise suppression. 22 is really quiet with a decent mod. I have had 22lr/22wmr, 17hmr and 17wsm and hornets and tbh honest the wsm was unbelievably accurate and flat out to 150 yards+.

I think the hmr is a wounderful round. I enjoyed pushing it out to distance on rabbits but with the cost of the ammo and decline in rabbit numbers i rearly use mine anymore. For me both 22lr and 17hmr have a place in the cabinet both do diffrent jobs.
