Multi Barrel rifles

I thought this would be a thread about double rifles, bockdrillings and vierlings, not switch-barrel rifles.

The latter are a compromise, but they can have real utility when storage space is limited: for once, you can put more "rifles" in s cabinet than the manufacturer claims!
A very good point on storage space! I also Think the other benefit is only needing one scope if you’re willing to quickly adjust your zero.

I personally have no issues with my Sako quad, it’s pinpoint accurate shoots just like you would expect from any other Sako rifle. Again I’ve not swapped it about tho, so can’t say if it has negative effect but I think with it’s very simple reference faces for alignment it won’t have much if any negative effect.

How the law was explained to me is that any rifled barrel is just a tube until it is blocked at one end and or a chamber is cut for a cartridge. Then it becomes a firearm irrespective of any action or stock that may or may not be present.
This would suit you Savage 24 20g-.357max

Over here (Norway) a blaser or sauer or S&L with easy barrel change option is one firearm. Additional barrels don't count as firearms. So, in theory, a R8 with 10 barrels still only counts as one rifle.
We have a limit of 8 hunting firearms/ shotguns without question (as long as you have taken hunters education / jegerprøven)
Additional firearms may be granted but a very good reason is needed.
Target rifles/ clay shotguns are not on this quota. Moderators are off ticket. FAC's granted for life unless criminal record/mental health issues dictate otherwise.
How is the waiting time for each våpensøknard in Oslo these days?

My mate has a very uncommon sir name which co incidentally is the same as the mayor of a small town where one of the staff at the våpenkontoret is a member of the local jaktlag. His papers are approved inside two weeks, the record is 5 days.

Det fins ingen korrupsjon I Norge !

The same in Denmark if anyone wondered 🙂
The licenses for switch barrels are also free of charge here. (A normal license on a rifle will set you back ~ £110)

We have no limit to amount of licenses/weapons, only stricter rules for storage when you go above 25 i believe

My experience is slightly different.

One stock/action/barrel/trigger combination is treated as a rifle. The rest are treated and listed as spare barrels (and bolt heads where required).
I think your FLD has got it wrong, in that case: because the current law (s57 Firearms Act) is that the bits (meaning barrels, receivers, bolt-heads, bolt-bodies) should be listed separately. The 'conditions' in my case make it clear that one can use the various bits together to shoot with.

I was talking with a FEO the other day who said I had x number of shotguns and x number of rifles plus x number of barrels as per this listing of my certificate.
If your cert say 20 rifles you have 20 rifles, if it says you have 2 rifles and 10 barrels they can’t argue with their own writing.
