Muzzle up or down?

Rather than sll this bollocks talked about muzzle up or muzzle down, why not simply carry rifle with chamber empty when its on your shoulder, any then load it when you are about to take a shot?
As your post follows two consecutive one's of mine I assume it is the bollocks I am talking you take exception to. Hardly fair when I have just been responding to other's posts.

I would point out that I have made it quite clear earlier in the thread that the chamber is always empty when it is on my shoulder.

But notwithstanding that….when it is on my shoulder there is no round in the chamber anyway.

But as I said when it is over my shoulder there is no round in the chamber.

No its not your post, it’s the fact that this topic constantly comes up with lots trying to justify if its better for a rifle to go off on your shoulder with muzzle pointing up or down.

You and I both are on the same page as regards rifle only being loaded when a shot is imminent.

Given I started the thread I will add that having changed to muzzle down I always walk and always did with an empty chamber.
The original post was really about comfort, discretion and muzzle up not helping my already challenged stealth or lack of.

Having Said that I have found the ensuing discussion interesting but I think intemperate adjectives are a little un-welcome.

I raised the topic as relatively new to the stalking world seeking the view of more experienced if not wiser heads. Apologies for not trawling through past posts rather than simply asking a question. I had thought that was what this site is about.
