Wanted to post this..

Here is my little bit of heaven.

I had a mooch round this arvo (without rifle as it is not exactly near my place - purely exercise you understand)







Spent an couple of hours there. Sat down and got a wet arse, had a stogie, Plenty of muntjac slots . The dreaded Himalayan Balsam takes over in the Spring / Summer. Grrrhhh.
Picked some Jew's ear fungi which I have had as a starter this evening before last of 2020's Muntjac





Didn't see any Munties as a woman in a pink raincoat with a dog was wandered through making a commotion with a ball or something..

She never saw me and she should not have been there as it is well off the beaten track but I can fully understand people trying to get some peace from nature in these crap times so I do not begrudge (must be getting soft and have done same more than once myself)

Anyway that's my special spot.

My bit of heaven, my property is in the first pic and most of the land is within the Dartmoor National Park. Second pic is just open Moorland which is directly behind me in the first picture, it goes on for 365 square miles. I walked there this morning, all I saw was two ladies on horseback.

Sorry for the quality of the last pic, with a phone on max mag. This group have been roaming around this area for a while.

Agreed. Would make a great subject for a landscape painter.

When you just need to get away and be a miserable bas*tard, I head to this wood and my bushcraft camp.......You will never find me, and no one will hear you scream! In 2019 I woke to see a magnificent Stag staring me down about 15 meters away.

Second pic is my bit of coastal heaven, about 40 mins away. I am often found drowning a Rag or or spinning a lure. I sometimes catch a fish, but hey........Who cares.

A picture of the area over which I have permission to shoot, taken this morning. To walk over it today would be extremely difficult, but xc skiing was superb! The snow is up to 60cm deep. My wife, kids dog and I were the first along the track this morning and I got to see all of the animal tracks before they were disturbed.

It happens in June, they don't damage it then. They don't eat it, it's too coarse and they don't flatten it because its flexible with no heads yet.
Estate farmer is ok he knows and understands deer seasons. He moans about them in mature rape because they knock the seeds out as they move through it. However if he sees a rabbit he's got a thousand in that field.

Easy peasy to find, smokey smoke and sunlight through cover. Great place to catch you..
