These folk in Sheffield are friends of mine, they make FS knives by the thousands, every year.
Far right there is a Grallocher that I cut from RWL34 yonks ago, I’m making it up just because it’s there and I have it so why not?!
I’m hoping to polish it this morning and then stonewash it, it’ll be the first Grallocher that has received the ‘washed finish and I can’t wait to see it, I think it will suit that blade remarkably well.
If I get the time to polish it that is…

I rough ground another Grallocher blade today too, this one a commission, I got a few photos along the way as I am quite proud of my Grallocher knives/blades and the way they are ground, they are tricky things to do, to do right anyway.
Plunges at both ends (the photo makes the tip look a bit off, it isn't, even I am not idiot enough to post a photo of something I know not to be right), edge currently down to around .5mm.
I also like to discreetly grind through the spine of the blade towards the tip, reducing the stock of the spine and tapering that stock towards the tip, it makes the blade lighter and more nimble in use, leaving the bulbous tip at the full 3mm stock.
Nice full width bevels through the length of the blade, spine and tip rounded.
This is why I like to taper that spine thickness.

The first is a small run of carver sets, I have managed to acquire a small quantity of old, forged, two prong carver forks, so it would be rude not to...
The idea for the second born only a couple of days ago, I was visited be a chap who was collecting his new knife and he brought along with him some bits and pieces that came from our workshop historically, among them this brace.
These made from old Stuart Truelove, hand forged (think Malcberry/1897 type) blanks that were sent into my dad who created thus fine pair, they feel great and I think they look stunning, so I'll be making a few of these too.
I might go stainless, so maybe not the forged route, but who knows, we will see.

I was roughing the bevels on some of my Ultralites yesterday and took these photos, they are pretty self explanatory, they do nicely show the aim of the process though.
A nice flat bevel, spine to edge, edge currently around .5mm+ (still at 40g), and the bit I like the most, the distal taper towards the tip, the grind giving the blade a little flex, making the tip fine and fit for purpose, the steel and the heat treatment backing that up, making it strong at that same time.
The knife is a 120UL.
