My punishment or poor communication?

In May I booked an outing for mid June which was quite local to me, good news as I'm not aware of too much thats close to me and it would only be my 3rd outing for deer.

Two weeks before the stalk I had to cancel/postpone (due to a £600 unexpected car repair). Not something I wanted to cancel as people can be out of pocket but I gave as much notice as I could given the situation. Apologies given and it didnt seem to be a problem.

The outing was rebooked that same day for this weekend just gone (9th July) and supplied my phone number.
I offered to pay a deposit only to be told it wasnt necessary, just pay on the day.

28th June I ask to confirm what time we are meeting and ask for a phone number......no answer, no phone number supplied.

30th June I chase it up that we are still good for Saturday...no answer.

All the while these messages are being ignored, the member is online.

This place is going to take me 1.5hrs to drive to so its gets to 1.30pm on the day of the stalk and I'm getting a bit itchy.....I decide to tag the member in one of their old posts to give them a nudge....next thing the old post is deleted and I get a message saying 'I cant do tonight'...nothing else

Ive had no reply since, ghosted.

Is this me getting a kicking for having to postpone/cancel a stalk or just poor communication?

Bad form. Very unprofessional to ignore your messages, even if he was hacked off with your cancellation. At least you made amends by rebooking with the same guy.
Better you choose a professional guide next time.

I think it depends on what you’re expecting to pay for? If you’re paying top dollar then you’d expect a professional stalker / guide to have your outing as their main priority…… if it’s more of a casual thing with a part time stalker and he’s having a bad week ( like you had with your car bill) then maybe give him the benefit of the doubt…. After all no money has changed hands…

I’d contact him again, see if he’s happy to take you out on another day, and see if that comes together, you may have got off a little bit ‘on the wrong foot’ but **** happens….. I’m inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt for a while ( until I know they’re taking the ****, at which point vengeance is mine….)

Thats the thing, I did message asking for new dates as soon as they said they couldn't do the 9th.....no answer and theyve been online just now so I think its best to move on.

I would prefer if someone just said that I p*ssed them off.

If you have time to reply that youre not available then you have time to offer a new date or tell me to bugger off.

He will have rebooked - this time of year is easy to book every outing 4 times over, for whatever price you can dream up.

Not going to give you a hard cancel until he knows for sure the other guy is committed.

Not overly concerned about your opinion because you’re not a repeat client and there are plenty of other people out there.

A bit of courtesy wouldnt hurt though.

If you can make it down to Kent after September I will take you out on fallow for a day for free
Thank you for the offer, I have just messaged you.

If you let me know a date (and your favourite drink if you have one ) I will book accommodation.

Same thing happened to me, Same guy probably, similar pattern, booked the stalk, date arranged etc. Then no communication - but het on here advertising stalking?!
