my trip to scotland on a bor shoot in 2004

Things are looking good. I have got the dates and price, less my earlier deposit, and the price for two days driven boar is very reasonable indeed.
I was contacted a couple of weeks before Christmas and asked for the balance and documents to get clearance to shoot in Germany so it all seems on course.
I did hear about one of his trips that went wrong back in the the Autumn of last year and was contacted by a few that went, saying there were no Boar to be seen, so I am hoping there will be some this time.
I was very concerned about the lack of contact and, naturally thought the worst, but I will give an account of the trip after I come back and let you all know if it turned out alright after all.
Fingers crossed, I'm hoping it will.

I'm off on the 23rd, shooting 24th, 25th returning 26th.
I'd be interested in the details of your trip to Poland as I have been going there since 2000 until last year, when it got more expensive than a week in SA on Plains game!!
Although I am really only interested in driven rather than walking stalking or high seats.

I can't believe this lot are in business, both moraly and legally

Is there a website?

I think we should name and shame!

Well, I'm back and it all went as follows.
He offered me a two day 'discounted' trip to Bavaria, a £770 trip for £700.
I didn't realise it was bed and breakfast only, but more of that later, and I had to arrange my own flight on top of the £700.
Travel Friday, shoot Saturday and Sunday and travel back Sunday night.
I took it and when I got to Frankfurt had to wait three hours for another to arrive and was then told a taxi would collect us and to split the 50 Euro fare between us!! I didn't pay and heard no more about it.
On the last day we had to pack our kit and change in the forest or back at the airport as we were taken straight back to the airport for our flight home.
I speak German so got chatting and it seems there was an Advert placed in the Deutche Jagde und Hund magazine for all and sundry with a German hunting Licence to turn up, pay 150 Euros a day and take part, we paid something like £300 a day.
There were 71 hunters on the first day, I don't know how many turned out on the second day but the second day finished early and over the two days only seventeen pigs were shot and all were small.
Good fun, good company and I enjoyed it but I don't think I'll go again.
The thing I disliked most was the fact that when we finished shooting, instead of going back to our accomodation, washing, changing and going for dinner, we were all taken, still in our shooting kit and muddy boots with rifles, to a big Restaurant in a village and given a menu to choose our dinner from, which was not particularly cheap, and by the time we had all finished it was nearly midnight before we got back to clean up and get ready for the next day.
He seems to be a genuine guy but very badly organised, which spoils things. Everybody was going round asking, what was next, where do we go now, what's happening etc etc.
I didn't see a shootable pig, but that's how it goes so he can't be blamed for that but organisation wise, he could do better!!

Through the grapevine someone told me PC is no longer a Sporting Agent. He has moved onto other business.

This is what I have been told, whether it is true who knows :???:

regards

I bought the magazine for the first[and last ] time this month, quite a bit of self promotion by 1 or 2 individuals.

The only thing of interest was a picture of a mate of mine with a oar in Latvia, they got his name wrong!

Makes me think with a decent spell check that I should get into writing articles for magazines as the present stuff in Shooting Times etc. is a load of ****, 4 pages on shooting a rat with an airgun!!!!!!!!

Sure is the same chap.
That is the Charlie Jacoby that has given up as Editor of Sporting Rifle to Peter Carr.

Hi Russ, all I can say is repeat what has been said, but to add that safety doesn't seem to have been a high priority either, no one tends to move up & down a shooting line as you described if it was truly a non canned situation, better luck next time with the organisers.Steve.

I see Charlie Jacoby is busy developing a fieldsports channel. On this programme he is out stalking with a Peter Carr. would this be the same chap?

Yeah ive seen this online. He sits in a hide for a while then decided to go for a drive round his ground. The client then shoots a buck out of the rover window. Not exactly stalking is it ??.

This thread is a complete fabrication. I know that for a fact, because it is very loosely based on me. I went pigeonshooting with russ91 in 2008 after a boar shoot and told him all about it. He's obviously got quite a few details wrong, which is why the thread caused so much controversy. Its a complete fantasy on his part. The shoot was organised well, but I'm not here to talk about that.
The photo's are all mine also. If you right click the mouse and check the picture properties, you will see that the pictures were taken on 5th january 2008 and they are from my (stevejones46)photobucket album.
I was horrified to find that someone had stole my pictures and even my story, but then got it all wrong.
Russ what were you thinking, did you think no-one would find out. After the replies that you have had, I think you shot yourself in the foot.
Like I said its all a complete fabrication.

How strange.....why someone would post such a harmful post to there own characater. What bought you on to the site and across that post first of all steve46?

I knew I'd get slated for this.
Firstly, everything I've stated is absolutely true.
When I came across the post ,I was in total disbelief. Someone stealing my pictures etc.
Its like identity theft.
So before you all call me, just check it out.
I am on another shooting site, where I have an exemplary name for myself.
(caeser on pigeonwatch forum)
I'm disappointed that people have judged me without knowing or checking out the facts.
I have put proof in the post, if you do like I say. Or I can also post some of the other pictures that I have.
I am an honest person with a very good reputation.
Just check the date of the pictures, they are from 2008 not 2004. and they are from my photobucket album.
